Delete your data

This page tells you how to have everything we hold about you deleted, including anything we received because you used Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp to reach us. It is the short version of the "Deleting your data" section of our Privacy Policy, and the two say the same thing.

How to ask

Pick whichever is easiest. Both work.

  • Email hello@junadev.com from the address you used with us, with the subject line Delete my data.
  • If you reached us through Facebook, Instagram or WhatsApp, send the word DELETE to the same Page, account or number you messaged. Nothing else is needed; we can identify you from the conversation.

If you are asking on behalf of someone else, say so and tell us who, so we can check you are entitled to.

How long it takes

We confirm that we have received your request within 7 days, and we complete the deletion within 30 days. Backups are overwritten on a 30 day cycle, so a copy can persist in an encrypted backup for up to 30 days after that point and is then gone. Nothing is restored from a backup without the deletion being applied again.

What gets deleted

Your name, email address, phone number and any other contact details; the content of your conversations with us on every channel, including Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp; the platform-scoped identifiers Meta gives us so we can reply to you; any notes, tags or scores recorded about you; and your record in the CRM of the business you contacted.

What we have to keep

Two things survive a deletion request, and only these. Invoices and accounting records, because tax law requires us to keep them. And a dated line in a tamper-evident log recording that a deletion happened, which contains no personal detail beyond the fact of the request. Neither is used to contact you or to rebuild a profile of you.

If you contacted one of our clients

We run messaging and CRM systems for other businesses. If you messaged one of them rather than us, that business decides what happens to your data and we act on their instructions. Send the request anyway: we will delete you from the systems we operate and pass your request to them on the same day, and we will tell you who they are.

Removing our access at Meta

Deleting your data here does not change what Meta itself holds. To remove an app's access to your Facebook or Instagram account, open Settings, then Apps and Websites, find the app and remove it. To delete data held by WhatsApp, use the privacy settings in the WhatsApp app. Those are Meta's systems and only you can act on them.

If you are not satisfied

Write to hello@junadev.com and ask for the request to be escalated. We will respond with what was deleted, what was kept and why.
